Must Have Essential Oils for Traveling

 

If you have ventured into the world of essential oils you know how easily and quickly they become part of your everyday routine.  Vacation season is just around the corner and I was trying to pair down a list of my MUST have essential oils for traveling so that I can do my best to pack light and what I need for our trip.

 

Tips for easy traveling with essential oils:

 

  • If you are traveling by air its good to note that since these bottles are so small you can put them into a traveling case like this one, or pack them all into a Ziploc bag. Your oils can fit into a carry on so no need to try and add these into the luggage.

 

  • Don’t forget to bring a carrier oil. I really like these small bottles for easy traveling with carrier oils.

 

Thieves Oil:  Thieves oil is at the top of my list when it comes to essential oils for traveling.  This oil not only kills germs but also  immune enhancing system so it’s a win –win!  I use it in public restrooms to wipe down surface.  You could also use it to wipe down hotel rooms or diffuse it to clean that stale air.

 

Lemon Essential Oil:  Lemon oil is a ray of sunshine in a jar and also packs a nice energy boost and if you have kids sometimes vacation wears you out more than being at home.  Just add a drop into the palms of your hands, rub them together and inhale.  You can also add a drop to your water and it will help flush toxins.

 

Lavender Oil: Lavender oil is calming and relaxing which makes it one of the best essential oils for traveling.  It’s great to use on flights or pretty much any stressor that pops up during vacation.  You can also massage a drop onto bug bites or other skin irritations or apply a drop to your temples, neck and behind the ears to ensure a better night sleep.  Do you have one that gets carsick?  Alleviate motion sickness by simply massaging a couple of drops onto the feet and temples to help.

 

Peppermint Essential Oil:  It always seems like no matter how good we try to eat on vacation we’re bound to overindulge or eat something that doesn’t quite agree with us.  Peppermint oil works wonders when it comes to nausea or an upset stomach so it’s always one I like to bring “just in case”.  To help alleviate an upset stomach, massage a drop into the abdomen or add a drop onto a tissue and inhale.  It also works wonderful to relieve headaches, simply add a drop to temples, back of the neck or diffuse to help relieve most headaches quickly.

 

If I could bring them all I would but if I am packing light these are the best essential oils for traveling I use.  I would love to hear what are your MUST have oils?
