Homemade Tomato Pie

Do you love tomatoes? Tomatoes are in abundance this year on the plants. Do you ever wonder what to make with all the tomatoes? Yes, I know canning is a great idea. But, making a homemade tomato pie is delicious. I have never made a tomato pie before. I have had the famous Tomato Shed pies before from John’s Island, SC.  I love getting those pies and heating them up and having a wonderful pie. Now, I can make my own pies at home for a fraction of the cost of purchasing theirs. I am all about savings money.

Tomato Pie Recipe

  • Pie Crust- frozen or refrigerator crust
  • 4 Tomatoes- Sliced or Chopped
  • 1/2 Cup Sweet Onion
  • 1/2 tsp. Basil
  • 1 1/2 Cup Kraft 3 Cheeses
  • 3 Tbsp. Mayo

Heat Oven to 350


Bake pie crust as directed. Slice or chop tomatoes, place in colander and squeeze the juice. Try to release as much as possible. Dis-guard the juice. Line the pie crust with sliced or chopped onions. Top the onions with the sliced or chopped tomatoes. Sprinkle basil on top. Mix the Kraft 3 Cheeses with 3 Tablespoons of mayo. Spread on top of the tomatoes.

Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
