My friend Amanda C. has been baking this weekend. She is sharing her granny’s orange slice cake recipe with us. We can not tell granny that she let the secret out.  I love pound cakes, I like them still a little warm and the crust is my favorite part of the cake. I can not wait to try out this cake. Thank you so much Amanda  for sharing this with us.

What is your all time favorite handed down recipe?

Granny’s Orange Slice Cake

3 sticks of butter
3 c sugar
3 1/2 c self rising flour
8 oz cream cheese
6 eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
26 oz orange slice (cut into pieces)
4 c nuts (this is what the original recipe calls for, but I put 1 1/2 c of pecan & walnut chips combined.)

Cream butter and sugar together. Add cream cheese and vanilla. Add flour 1 cup at a time. Then add nuts. Make sure the before you put in the orange slice that you flour them first or they will sink to the bottom of the cake. Bake at 300 degrees for 2 hours.
