camping supply checklist

My family and I are going on a camping trip. We will be on a island and the only way to get there is by a boat. I want to make sure we have everything we could possibly need .

One thing I like to do before we go on a camping trip is prepare as much food as possible at home. You can make biscuits and put them in a Ziploc bag. You can make sausage gravy for the biscuits. Then, all you have to is warm the sausage gravy for a nice breakfast. You can make pigs in the blanket and put them in a Ziploc bag for a quick snack. You can eat those cold. If you are planning to grill hamburgers on your camping trip. You could patty the meat at home. When you go camping you want to make sure you have everything you could possibly need. I like to also have more than enough food.

Camping with the family can be fun. You can start by making it a family tradition. Some places you may camp may have no power, so a generator may come in handy. We purchased a generator a few years back. It came in handy for us during a ice storm. We lost power for 5 full days.

If you are camping at a camp ground ,most of them have electrical hook ups. You will be able to take some electrical items with you on your camping trip. Some places will have showers, and restrooms. Some places will not have those luxuries. When you camp without the luxuries, that is what I call roughing it. I will be roughing it soon.

You can take card games and books to keep the children entertained. Sometimes, we need to unplug for a weekend and just escape and visit nature.

What camping tips makes your life simple?

  1. […] As you may or may not know my family is pretty active when it comes to camping, and boating. We love making campfires during the cooler months. In South Carolina we have a lot of mosquitoes ,the smoke from the fire helps keep them away. This past Summer my husband and some friends went camping on Coon Island, they really could have used the Folding Firebox Campfire Stove.  They could have packed a lot less if they had of had this stove. What is one must have item on your camping checklist? […]
