DIY Plywood Flooring

DIY Plywood Flooring is a easy way to make a room beautiful. Plywood is so much cheaper than vinyl, designer planks or actual hardwood. Having the plywood floors is cheaper not the easy way out. This is work, hard work. Get down and get dirty work. Simple, pretty much, back breaking of course. My husband has been a trooper and happy once the work has been done. I had my two bathroom priced for vinyl floors and was told it would be over a thousand for those rooms. I almost died. I had just checked out of Lowes for just about all my floors for less than $1,200.00. So for vinyl, well over thousand for bathrooms we decided we would do plywood in the bathrooms also. I am not sure of the exact dollar amount we have spent on this project but it has been the cheaper way to go with the floors.

Camo Man Cave

Camo Man Cave Silhouette Tutorial
Supplies Needed:
Wooden Plague (Purchased from Michaels)
Bright Orange Vinyl
Camo Vinyl
Silhouette Cutting Machine
Clear Transfer Tape (Purchased from Dollar Tree)
Directions:
For this project I wanted to give my Man Cave the Ultimate wall piece so I decided to add in a palm tree, browning head and duck head and compile into one fantastic piece of work. To get the browning head and the duck head I had to do a simple trace on the Silhouette Design software and the rest was easy.

As you all know I am from South Carolina, my husband is a big time hunter. I think he will love this “Man Cave” plaque. We just purchased a new house and we have worked very hard in the “Man Cave”. I love finding a great deal and found a pool table for $50 on a local Facebook group. We also have a bar completely stocked in the “Man Cave”.  My husband has his “Man Cave” with his deer head mounts, and a squirrel mount. This would be any hunters dream “Man Cave ” room.  The Palm Tree is for the South Carolina state flag.

Make sure you check out some of the other craft projects we have shared.

Deer Silhouette Glass Block Tutorial

Supplies Needed:

Glass Block (Purchased at Michaels)

Brown Vinyl

Clear Transfer Tape

Silhouette Cutting Machine

Battery Operated String Lights

Tutorial:

Head over to the Silhouette online store and grab the Deer Corner file for just $0.99. Once you have purchased the file head over to the Silhouette Studio Software and upload it into a new document.  Once it’s uploaded head over to the scaling bar and resize to 5.5” x 5.5” which is the perfect size to fit on the front of this glass block.  Head over to cut settings and select vinyl as your material and set your blade to a 2 for the perfect cut.

DEER PROJECT2

Add your vinyl to your silhouette cutting mat and feed into machine and click Send to Silhouette. Once your cut is complete remove the excess vinyl and throw away.  This is a very easy image to weed out so I was happy about that.  Once it’s weeded place it on a flat surface and cover with transfer tape.  Press down firmly to ensure all of the vinyl sticks and slowly peel up from one corner to the next.  Once you have the Vinyl on your clear transfer tape eyeball placement on your glass block and press down firmly.  Remove the transfer tape slowly when you’re happy with the results and your glass block is complete.  To add a more romantic look carefully feed through a string of lights through the bottom provided hole and set up and enjoy.

These Glass blocks make fantastic home décor projects, gifts as well as nightlights and much more.

pumpkin family

Fall has arrived!  The mornings are cooling off and leaves are falling around my home leaving the beautiful autumn colors to decorate my lawn.  This pumpkin family woodcraft is a simple do-it-yourself project to compliment fall, and add warmth to your welcoming porch!

After taking down a fence this summer, it has been a mission to repurpose as much of the wood as possible.  This fun pumpkin craft took me just a couple of days to complete; then, giving it to the Davis family was the best feeling!

I started with using the tops of some of the fence planks.  We had many boards that were split and heading to the fire pile when I decided they could be turned into adorable pumpkins.  No need to worry if your boards are not topped with the angles, you can always trim them to look just like these.

MARIO CHRISTMAS TREE

My cousin Ashley is the crafty one in the family. Her little boy Bryson loves Mario and wanted his own tree for Christmas.

All the Yoshi and Stars were off of eBay for less than $20. The wooden star at the top was $0.99 at Hobby Lobby and she painted it herself.  You can find all kinds of Mario ornaments on eBay.

Do you decorate a tree for your little ones?

This DIY Ornament wreath is a fun, easy, and creative craft to do this Holiday Season! Sometimes we all get a bunch of ornaments that just don’t match with the rest of them and you just don’t know what to do with them! Well, here’s a solution! Make a wreath! These ornament wreaths are gorgeous and a fun to make! So let’s get started on how to do it.

Supplies:
-Ornaments
-Hot Glue Gun
-Sign to go in the middle (optional)
Procedure:
-Okay so first you’re going to make a simple circle with your ornaments, I chose to do my base circle with all one color ornaments and then add the accent colors later, however you can make it however you would like! You can do it all one color or a bunch of different colors, whatever you prefer! Just try to make the best circle you can, it doesn’t have to be absolutely PERFECT!

-Next, start gluing your accent colors on top and around the base circle in order to give the wreath a more FULL look! Just a little tip, try to keep things symmetrical! Your wreath will look weird if you don’t!

-Now, the last step would be if you do have a sign to go in the middle like mine, you’re just gonna put a little dot of glue on either end and glue it on top of the ornament that is the closest in that area!

-There you have it! Pretty easy right?! I know! You could also add a big christmas bow or ribbon to hang if you want! But it hangs on a door wreath hanger just fine without any type of hook or anything!

How To Make A Mesh Wreath

The items you will need are a wire wreath no larger than 18 inches, green wire wreath ties (or pipe cleaners), and deco mesh. Our local craft store only had the longer rolls of deco mesh in stock. If you get the smaller rolls you will need 2 of them at least since they are half the size. They are nice if you are wanting to make colorful wreaths. This tutorial is done with the larger deco mesh. You will need to adjust the instructions if you get the smaller rolls. All of these items can be purchased at your local craft store for under $10 if you use one of the store’s 40% off one item coupons.

wreath102

For the larger bow look start out by cutting 4 pieces at 3-4 inches in length.

wreath103

Cut your wire wreath ties in half so they will not be too long.

wreath104

Roll each of the 4 pieces and pinch them in the middle.

wreath105

Put all 4 pieces together and keep pinching the middle.

wreath106

Use one of the ties and tie them together.

wreath108

Tie the deco mesh bow to the wire wreath.

wreath109

Next, repeat the process of cutting pieces into 3-4 inch lengths. You will only need 2 pieces this time instead of 4. Cut the pieces down the middle to create 4 smaller pieces this time. They don’t need to be perfect or even.

wreath110

Roll the pieces and pinch them in the middle like before and tie them.

wreath111

wreath112

Tie them to the wreath

wreath113

Repeat the process of cutting 2 pieces and cutting them down the middle. Then rolling, pinching, and tying. Keep repeating and tying these pieces to the wreath until you have made it all the way around.

wreath114

This will be your final result!

Thanks so much Hannah for sharing your wreath “how to make” with us all. I would love to attempt to make a pretty fall wreath soon.
